Sen. Marshall Reintroduces Bipartisan Legislation to Expand Market for Biofuels Year-Round

(Washington, D.C., July 14, 2021) – Today, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. joined his colleagues in reintroducing the bipartisan Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act. The bill would extend the Reid vapor pressure (RVP) volatility waiver to ethanol blends above 10 percent. It would increase market access and continue to allow retailers across the country to sell E15 and other higher-ethanol fuel blends year-round, eliminating confusion at the pump. Higher blends of ethanol burn cleaner, providing a way for more Americans to be part of the climate solution.

“America’s biofuels industry has the technology available to provide consumers with a carbon-reducing option at the gas pump which will decrease the carbon-footprint of liquid fuels,” said Senator Marshall. “This bipartisan legislation opens the door to year round E-15, and guarantees farmers will continue to make the world cleaner, safer, and better for years to come.”
