Senators Marshall, Barrasso Reintroduce Bill To Finish Border Wall with COVID-19 Funds

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. and Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) re-introduced legislation, the Build the Wall Act, requiring unobligated COVID-19 funds to be used to finish building the wall along the southern border.

The Build the Wall Act would establish the “Southern Border Wall Construction Fund” and require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to use any unobligated Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) to construct and maintain physical barriers along the southern border of the United States.

“It’s past time that we finish building the border wall, and what better way to do it than with the unused COVID-19 slush fund to help President Trump seal the border? I’m proud to join my colleagues in introducing the Build The Wall Act and fight alongside the Trump Administration to secure our southern border.”

Co-sponsors of this legislation include Senators Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Jim Risch (R-ID), and James Lankford (R-OK).
