Senator Marshall Supports Captain Federico’s Nomination to United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. released the following statement after voting to confirm Captain Richard Federico to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit which covers federal appeals from Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. Captain Federico is a 2002 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law who joined the U.S. Navy JAG Corps and was on active-duty post-graduation until 2015. He moved back to Kansas in 2017 where he has served as a public defender for the Federal District Court of Kansas. Concurrently, since 2019, Captain Federico served as a Military Judge in the Navy Reserve Trial Judiciary.

“Captain Federico earned my support when we sat down and discussed his record and priorities this past summer,” Senator Marshall said. “He has devoted his life to serving our country as a U.S. Navy JAG Officer and as a civilian upholding the laws in our Kansas judicial system. I look forward to him bringing this same integrity to the Court of Appeals. With his confirmation today, Kansans anticipate that he will uphold the commitment of an impartial judge and the promises enshrined in the Constitution. I believe he will do an honorable job.”
