Senator Marshall Releases Statement On Texas Governor Seizing Control Of Border at Eagle Pass Port of Entry

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall released the following statement on the breaking news that the state of Texas is taking over control at points of entry in Eagle Pass, TX,  a border town that has been a prominent passing point for illegal aliens.

“Since taking office, Joe Biden and his Administration have undermined Texans safety and security at every turn,” Senator Marshall said. “Eagle Pass, TX, has been at the epicenter of Joe Biden’s border crisis, with illegal aliens crossing the Rio Grande Valley and exploiting our asylum procedures at an alarming rate. I am proud to see Texas Governor Greg Abbott take matters into his own hands to combat the invasion and culture of lawlessness that has been embraced by this White House. By seizing control of this port of entry, Gov. Abbott is upholding his oath and protecting his citizens from the dangerous consequences of Biden’s actions, which he has full authority to do so under clause three, section 10, Article One of the Constitution.”
