Senator Marshall Releases Statement After Voting to Confirm Brooke Rollins as Agriculture Secretary 

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D., released the following statement after voting to confirm Brooke Rollins as Secretary of Agriculture. Rollins was confirmed by a vote of 72-28.

“Congratulations to my friend Brooke Rollins on her confirmation as our next Secretary of Agriculture,” said Senator Marshall. “As a fifth-generation farm kid, I can attest to her deep understanding and commitment to rural America. Not only will she focus on peeling back regulations, but she will also be a staunch supporter of farm-friendly trade policies and a champion of biofuels. Secretary Rollins will ensure that American agriculture remains the backbone of our nation’s food security and the heartbeat of American culture.”

BACKGROUND

  • Last year, Senator Marshall met with Rollins and discussed her impressive background and shared with her “our agriculture industry’s most pressing issues, including preserving crop protection tools, expanding trade opportunities, lowering input costs, and supporting rural development.”
  • In January 2025, Senator Marshall proudly voted in support of Rollins during her Senate Agriculture Committee confirmation hearing. 
  • Senator Marshall also penned an op-ed in The Washington Times in support of Rollins’ nomination, saying “Ms. Rollins understands agriculture because she has lived it. As a multigenerational farm kid, she knows firsthand the dedication and sacrifice it takes.
