Additionally, Senator Marshall shared President Trump’s record of fighting for America’s farmers and ranchers in his first administration and how President Trump will address pressing issues such as biofuels and 45Z.

Highlights from Senator Marshall’s interview include:

On Brooke Rollins’ Senate confirmation hearing this week:

“Brooke Rollins did a great job. You know, she’s as American as apple pie and John Deere. If you don’t love Brooke Rollins, there’s something wrong with you. This young lady from Glen Rose, Texas, population of 1,500 people. She grew up in 4H, she grew up in FFA. Her entire leadership team from her FFA days came to that hearing yesterday, her high school Ag teacher came to that hearing yesterday, her children – she has four children – they’re showing steers. This young lady is going to be a great voice for American agriculture, and I just can’t wait to get her across the finish line.”

On Senator Marshall’s Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act:

“This is one of my simple mantras I have up here, is we want to get whole milk back in our lunches. I was raised on whole milk. Twice a week, my grandfather would deliver milk from our farm to our house. And guess what? Brooke was raised on whole milk as well. I think it’s the most healthy, nutritious drink known to humankind. Let’s get it back in our school lunches.”

On President Trump’s history of fighting for American agriculture:

“I just want to repeat President Trump’s commitment to rural America, to farmers and ranchers. 90% of rural America voted for President Trump, and that’s not lost on him. He knows that, his chief knows that, everyone in the White House knows that 90% of rural America supported President Trump.”

“I’ll remind people back in 2017 when China was playing footsies with us and using non-tariff barriers for getting our crops in there as well, and President Trump slapped a tariff on them, and then he gave $28 billion – B with a billion dollars – to American farmers to make them whole. So he’s not going to do anything that’s going to hurt our farmers and ranchers long term.”

“What I’ve been talking to [President Trump] about in private, and then again, with Brooke yesterday in this hearing, is 45Z and making sure, number one, that China doesn’t get to benefit from it. And I think that President Trump, the first thing he’s going to do, if he hasn’t already, is keep China from benefiting from any type of tax credits that should be going to American farmers and ranchers. So it was great to hear Brooke being committed to biofuels yesterday.”
