Senator Marshall on Fox Business: Putin Does Not Respect Joe Biden
Wichita, KS – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. joined Mornings with Maria on Fox Business to call on European nations to assume a larger responsibility in addressing Russian aggression. Senator Marshall also previewed Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ upcoming impeachment trial in the Senate and discussed the senseless violence that occurred at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade.
Highlights from the interview include:
On European nations assuming a larger responsibility in addressing Russian aggression:
“This is yet again another example, this interview with President Biden, is exactly why Putin does not respect Joe Biden. Putin does not respect the European Union nations.”
“We have over 100,000 troops in Europe right now. Our actions show that we are standing up to Putin, but we need the European countries to put on their big boy pants. They need to stand up and push back on Putin too.”
“Look if you’re being bullied on the recess at grade school, you don’t ask your mom to come and fight the bully for you. It’s time for the European Union to stand up and push back as well.”
“We need to secure our own border first, that our number one most immediate threat to our national security is those six to ten thousand illegal aliens crossing our border every day. The two million ‘gotaways’ that are in our country right now, as well.”
On Alejandro Mayorkas’ upcoming impeachment trial:
“Senator Schumer does want to table this. He does not want it to be the front page of the newspaper so to speak. He does not want this to be the lead topic on all the media as well.”
“Our leadership needs to step up and be as vocal on this issue as they are on Ukraine funding, that this should be the priority. Again, ten thousand people crossing our border every day, that the Secretary of DHS has broken the law. He broke his oath. He’s not enforced the law. The law clearly states states he should maintain operational control. He’s not done that.”
On the violence at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade:
“We have a cultural issue here right now where we’ve become a lawless land. We have open borders. We have cashless bail. We defund the police. We don’t respect law and order. I just think back to what President John Adams said here on Presidents Day, John Adams said the Constitution was meant for a ‘moral and religious society.’ And that would apply to our laws as well. We need a lawful society that obeys the laws and we punish criminals.”
“This was a horrible event. I mourn and grieve with the family that lost a loved one. The people that were injured, we pray for their quick recovery as well. But we have a community issue, a cultural issue at the community level that we need to address.”
