Marshall Joins Blackburn in Leading Resolution To Recognize ‘American Girls In Sports Day’

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall joined Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and over 20 of their Republican colleagues in introducing a resolution to recognize October 10 as ‘American Girls in Sports Day.’

“I am honored to stand alongside Senator Blackburn and defend Title IX from the Biden Administration’s wrath that jeopardizes every woman student athlete’s safety,” Senator Marshall said. “Gender is not fluid- gender is not negotiable; men should never compete in women’s sports; it’s that simple. I look forward to celebrating our talented female athletes and supporting their success with this dedication on October 10. Our fight to protect Title IX and women’s athletics is far from over, but Senator Blackburn and my colleagues will not back down.”

“For nearly 50 years, Title IX has represented an American commitment to provide women with equal opportunities in educational programs and activities. Today, the Biden administration is intent on erasing the contributions made by women and changing the world of athletics as we know it. Now more than ever, it’s important to celebrate girls and women in sports, and I’m glad to champion this resolution in their honor,” said Senator Blackburn.

Additional cosponsors include U.S. Senators Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) Jim Risch (R-Idaho), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Bill Cassidy (R-La.), Katie Britt (R-Ala.), Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), John Cornyn (R-Texas), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Tommy Tuberville(R-Ala.), Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), Pete Ricketts (R-Neb.), Mike Lee (R-Utah) co-sponsored the resolution.
