ICYMI: Winter Energy Bill Financial Relief Application Now Open
(Washington, D.C., January 18, 2023) – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. is encouraging Kansans that are struggling to afford their winter heating bills to take advantage of one-time federal assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) available through energy providers across the state. The deadline to apply for this financial relief is March 31.
“Families are paying more this winter to heat their homes, but there are programs out there to help families in need. I encourage Kansans to use the federal resources available to them, such as LIHEAP, to help with winter energy costs.” Senator Marshall said.

Background:
During extreme cold weather in Kansas last month, Sen. Marshall launched a web page to guide Kansans having difficulty affording their winter bills on their available resources during the winter months or to reach out and request help. Kansans are encouraged to visit https://www.marshall.senate.gov/winter-heating-assistance-resources/ to view the resources or request help.
In December 2022, Sen. Marshall released a video Public Service Announcement (PSA) warning Kansans about the incoming subzero temperatures and winter storm warnings across the state. You may click HERE or on the image below to watch Senator Marshall’s full PSA video.
