On concerns for U.S. military readiness:

“Well, certainly Joe Biden has given us war through weakness, our enemies neither respect us or fear us. And at the same time, maybe we haven’t been as efficient as we could be with American taxpayer dollars. I think there is a lot of waste up here.” 

“Despite everything you talked about, I’m more concerned about biosecurity issues and cybersecurity attacks. So this is the tip of the iceberg, and I would just ask America, are you safer today?”

On the southern border crisis and American families concerns about their safety and security:

“We recently did two telephone town halls, one with a group of seniors, one with a group of young adults… 80% of the people on those phone calls said that their number one security was the open southern border. And that’s why I’ve continued to make this my top priority…”

“Their second largest concern was the attack on their constitutional rights. Third, the economy. So you’re right. It’s the border. It’s the border. It’s the border.”
