ICYMI: Senator Marshall Joins Gov. Mike Huckabee Show

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. joined Huckabee live in studio to discuss the Senate Dress Code, inflation impacts in Kansas, Biden’s wide open southern border, Senator Marshall’s career as an OB/GYN, and outrageous government spending and the looming shutdown.

Highlights from Senator Marshall’s interview include:

On the Senate Dress Code:

“This is an embarrassment for the people of Pennsylvania. You know, when you and I go to a wedding, we get dressed up, we put on a suit and a tie to honor the bride and groom. You go to a funeral, we put on a dark suit and a tie to honor the deceased, the family. When I go to the Senate, to the Senate chamber, I wear a suit and tie to honor the people of Kansas. This is an insult to the people of Pennsylvania to the people of America to our founding fathers.”

On skyrocketing inflation:

“The White House is tone deaf and has so many issues. Certainly the number one concern I hear from Kansans is the price of gasoline, the price of groceries, the cost of utilities, that’s the number one concern. Yeah, interest rates, you know, it cost twice as much for your first mortgage payment when you buy a new house today, than it did when Joe Biden was sworn in to the White House. The mortgage payment has literally doubled. That idea, that American dream that you and I grew up with, you know, we wanted to, to buy a house, have a fishing boat and a truck. That’s almost unsustainable in today’s world right now for young kids.”

On Biden’s wide open southern border:

“So under Joe Biden, I guess some, six, seven million people have entered this country illegally. Our open southern border is the number one most immediate national security threat our nation faces. We’re losing over 300 young Americans every day to fentanyl poisoning. Fentanyl made in China, delivered to the cartel across our southern border. It is cheaper to get a fentanyl tablet and easier in Kansas than it is a piece of pizza. For $1 a tablet, you can have this delivered to your house, the cartel now literally spread throughout Kansas, through your home state of Arkansas as well.”

On Senator Marshall’s OB/GYN career and pro-life values:

“And my favorite moment was always hearing that baby’s first cry, and handing that baby to the new mom… and just see this for the first time in my life, it was this awakening for what God’s love must be like for us. Just see this mom, just unconditional love for this baby as well. I think we have to just keep sharing that message, Governor, but I also think we need to be a message of encouragement to those young ladies that are struggling.”

“We need to share the compassion we have for the mom, for the baby, show them that you love them, surround them with all the love you can give, give them rides to to the doctor’s appointment, get them rides to the grocery store, whatever you can do just to surround them with all the support and love you can.”

On government spending and the looming shut down:

“I just want everybody, all your listeners, to understand the gravity of the situation. That our national debt is finally coming home to roost. That this year alone, the federal government’s gonna spend $2 trillion more than we take in, we’re gonna spend $700 billion on interest alone. Anyone that’s ran a business like you, realized when you’re that far underwater, when you’re paying the bank that much money, there’s just not enough money left to give the troops a raise, to take care of some people’s health care, those types of challenges as well. So this is really coming home to roost, whatever it takes for America or Congress to finally face up to the budget crisis we’re in. If that takes shutting the government down for a couple of weeks in order to get our arms around the problem, I’m willing to do that.”
