Sen. Marshall Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Title IX, Condemns President Biden’s War on Women’s Sports

(Washington, D.C., June 23, 2022) – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. spoke today at a Title IX 50th anniversary press conference hosted by Senator Tommy Tuberville (AL). During his remarks, Senator Marshall called attention to the Biden Administration’s latest fight which threatens funding for school meals for hungry kids at schools that don’t allow boys to play girls’ sports saying, in part,

“On the 50th anniversary of Title IX, we should focus on defending women’s athletics but instead, the Biden Administration is actively working to tear down 50 years of Title IX success in just under two years…This administration is holding women’s sports ransom for their radical woke agenda…Now they’re doing the same thing with school lunches – they want kids to go hungry at schools that don’t fall in line with letting boys play girls sports… I want every person, regardless of sex, to have access to opportunity, but we can’t be willing to make kids go hungry or force young women out of their own game in the process.”

Senator Marshall also submitted a budget amendment on this issue, which you may read HERE.
  • In March 2021, Senator Marshall penned an op-ed for FOX News about President Biden’s efforts to allow biological boys to compete in girls’ athletics. You may click HERE to read Senator Marshall’s full op-ed.
