Sen. Marshall Announces Library Construction Funding for the City of Udall

(Washington, D.C., March 23, 2021) – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. today announced $440,000 in funding to the City of Udall for the construction of a new city library.

“Community is the cornerstone of the rural way of life, and libraries provide important spaces to allow for continued learning, gathering, and sharing,” said Senator Marshall. “Through this USDA Community Facilities Loan, Udall residents will be able to benefit from expanded children’s reading programs, technology classes, and even a wellness space for exercise as part of their new library. I applaud the city’s forward thinking in a designing a space to meet so many diverse needs.”

Background:

U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Rural Development awarded the City of Udall a $440,000 low-interest loan. The funding will be combined with a Community Development Block Grant and additional financial contributions from the city. Upon completion the new library will provide meeting spaces, children’s reading programs, technology classes, a wellness facility and exam rooms. The city’s current library will be donated with the historical museum.
