Senator Marshall Announces Kansas City, Topeka Staff

(Overland Park, KS, January 14, 2021) – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. today announced the hiring of Chad Tenpenny and Ethan Patterson to his state staff, both working out of the Overland Park office.

“I am thrilled to have Chad and Ethan join our team as both bring unique and invaluable experiences and relationships to our office,” said Senator Marshall. “Having Ethan and Chad on staff has truly allowed us to hit the ground running serving the great people, places, and organizations of the Kansas City and Topeka communities.”

Background:

Tenpenny joins the staff as General Counsel, having served more than 20 years with Retired Senator Pat Roberts. While on staff he served as State Director, General Counsel and most recently as Chief of Staff. A Topeka native, Tenpenny earned both his bachelor’s and law degrees at the University of Kansas. Outside of his work with Senator Marshall, Tenpenny manages the small family farm in Williamstown and maintains a Lawrence rental property business. He resides in Leawood with his two teenage daughters and long-time partner Chelsea Good.

Patterson joins the staff at District Director for Eastern Kansas. Patterson will oversee the Overland Park, Topeka and Pittsburg offices. Prior to working for Senator Marshall, Patterson served as Kansas Senate Majority Leader Jim Denning’s Chief of Staff. He was also previously on staff with U.S. Congressman Kevin Yoder. An Olathe native, Patterson graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in U.S. History. He resides in Overland Park with his wife and two step-daughters.
